Mango Soy Candles

Here is a simple guide to make a mango scented soy candle.

Ingredients:

  • Mango fragrance oil or essential oil
  • Candle wicks
  • Candle dye (optional)
  •  Hot glue
  • Mason jars or glass containers with lids.

Instructions:

  • Heat 4 cups of soy wax flakes in a microwave safe glass measuring cup. On melting it reduces to 2 cups.
  • Heat the wax at one-minute intervals and stir thoroughly.
  • Check the temperature, ideally 175 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit is good to add fragrance oil in it.
  • Add candle dye at this stage (optional). Orange yellow colorant would be best for your mango scented candle.
  • Add 3 tb sp of fragrance oil at this stage. Mix gently and thoroughly until the wax looks clear and everything is well infused.
  • Prep your jars and attach wicks to the center bottom of the container with the help of hot glue gun. Use a wick holder to hold the wick in place as it softens and bends when hot wax is poured on it.
  • When the wax begins to cool it looks a little cloudy and its time to pour it in jars.
  • Let them rest for a few hours to cool completely.
  • When the candle is completely cool and hard, trim the wick usually 1 /4 inch above the top of your candle.
  • Sprinkle dried mango peels or dried flowers of your choice for decoration.
  • These scented candles need to be cured for at least 3 days and ideally for 2 to 3 weeks to give off maximum fragrance.
